The Friendship Center provides safe shelter to everyone, regardless of gender or identity.

Our onsite shelter is available to single women (cis and trans) and women with their dependent children due to current domestic violence, sexual assault, and/or stalking (DVSA) and who are currently in Lewis & Clark, Jefferson, or Broadwater counties.

Our on-site shelter is a low barrier shelter and is designed to promote safety and independence. Expectations for living in shelter are centered around safety.

Emergency Shelter

If you experiencing a safety-related emergency involving domestic violence, sexual assault, or stalking, contact an advocate directly at 406.442.6800 to discuss immediate options for emergency shelter. The purpose of this shelter is to provide a safe place to live while you plan for your next steps. Residents can typically stay in our emergency shelter for up to three months.

Longer-Term Shelter

You can qualify for our longer-term shelter if you are currently experiencing DVSA or if a recent lack of housing is directly caused by DVSA. There is an application for our longer-term shelter. If you have already applied, we ask that you keep in contact with us so that we can stay updated on your situation and if you are still in need. If you have not applied, please fill out the contact form below and a staff member will follow up. The purpose of this shelter is to provide a safe place while you plan for next steps and allow for time to address barriers you may have towards safe housing.
