Crisis Help Line Volunteer

One of the most vital services we offer is a 24/7 crisis line and that service needs you! If you have thought about doing more to support victims of domestic and sexual violence in our community, you can become an advocate and provide crisis intervention and support. We provide a 40-hour training twice a year that includes shadowing one of our advocates. Every crisis-line volunteer is backed up by staff advocates.

To learn more or sign up for the next training, email Sarah Kamis at and review our crisis line application below.

From sorting the generous donations our community gives us to caring for our beautiful facility, there are many opportunities to volunteer at The Friendship Center.

Donations of every amount have an impact and help ensure those experiencing domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking continue to have the necessary resources to resolve their crisis 24/7.

Contributing in-kind items is an excellent way to help us meet the needs of survivors. We regularly update the list of supplies and materials that we currently need most.

Our team regularly presents on a variety of topics designed to educate people at every age and learning level about their role in preventing abuse and promoting healthy relationships.

Learn about some of our educational content on key issues related to domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking and how to get in touch to request a presentation.

Our annual Hope Benefit Luncheon generates about 25% of non-grant funding for The Friendship Center's vital services each spring. Thanks to the generous sponsors, passionate supporters who host tables, and all who give at our luncheon, every dollar raised at this inspiring event directly supports our free, confidential services for survivors and community-wide education programming.

If you're interested in joining us at our 2025 luncheon, let us know! We'll send you a reminder invitation in early April with instructions for submitting your RSVP.
