The Friendship Center's services for survivors are available to everyone in our tri-county area, at any point in their lives. In addition to those 24/7, free, confidential services available to the broader community, we provide specialized support, resources, and information to Carroll College students, faculty, and staff who are primary or secondary survivors of intimate partner/dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking.
Survivors can access our services on campus during our advocate's office hours or by appointment. As with all our clients, the confidentiality of Carroll community members who access our services is strictly protected by a law called Advocate Privilege. This means that our advocates will not report any information on an adult client's case to Title IX, Carroll College, or any other agency without their explicit consent.
Outside of our direct services for survivors, our partnership with Carroll includes year-round education and awareness efforts to prevent violence. Our staff presents content tailored to empower incoming freshman, peer mentors, nursing students, and student-athletes to recognize their power to identify abusive behaviors, address biases and misinformation, and support survivors.
We also partner with Carroll every February for Spring Fever, an annual series of campus events highlighting issues of gender equity, campus safety, and healthy relationships.
